Anyone who got the new macbook pro shipped (any version) knows if the OUTSIDE packaging shows any Apple logo or states in any way that it is a laptop inside? or is it a plain box with shipping info only?....
Curious before shipping to avoid possible theft etc....
Any experience will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!:)

Try YouTube. There might be tons of unboxing videos there.

Re: Packaging

It's in a white box inside a brown box. The only thing to see on the outside is the relevant shipping label .
Thanks for the info!
So the white box has no logo or anything like that....thats good news...:apple:

No. The white box inside the brown box is the typical MBP box.

The shipping box is a plain brown box. Doesn't say anything about apple on it. Could be a pair if shoes.

Wouldn't UPS or whoever have to cover the cost of it getting stolen anyway? Worse case would be that Apple send you a new one but at no extra cost and probably on experdited shipping anyway.

As others have said, Apple ship in a brown outer box. However, I personally think they're very easy to spot if you know what you're looking for - the model number of the computer inside is on a sticker, along with other hints that it is an Apple machine.

That said, a casual observer is just going to see a brown box. Plus it is automatically insured - if it does go missing, Apple will give you a replacement.

Hey dmccloud ,

Thanks a ton for the YouTube link , really , I was wondering how Apple packaged the MBP`s for shipping.

The last time I had an Apple shipped to me , they just stuck a UPS
sticker on the iMac box , no plain brown box

Anyway , it is good to know that with all this green ( not money ) going
around that they do really double box it.

Take care , Happy Holidays :)

Yes, god forbid if they were more ecologically friendly with their packaging.

The inner white box says "Macbook Pro" and has an Apple logo on it. The outer box says nothing, but with a bit of smarts you could guess that it's a laptop.

Mine had this as the sender address:

Tech-Com Computer / ACI
Rong Xin Rd Songjiang Ex
Shanghai

I ordered a BTO but not from Apple. It's possible that regular BTOs would not have such a label on them.

When I bought mine in 2010 I reserved and collected it from the store I was buying it from. It was in a brown box and the white Macbook Pro box was inside that. I was told it was to hide my little purchase from Windows users so that they don't get envious :D

Thanks guy`s :)

At least I can be assured that if I order an MPB from Apple that they won`t
just stick a label ( UPS ) on the "white - box " and ship it out.

You never know until U ask ;)

Now I know ! , :D thanks :D

Later , :)
