I'm hoping sling comes out with an application for the Touch and iPhone. What kinds of applications are you wanting to come out the official way?

I hope to see a Today app that gives you info about what is happening today, like any appts, to do's, your info (phone num, address, email). I also would like to see a word processor and a spreadsheet program too. A better todo list would be great as well!

Better? Don't you mean "a" todo list? (There is none native.) ;)

I'd also like to see Notes sync either with Outlook or with plain .txt files.

I'd also like to see Calendar sync directly with Google Calendar.

But then again, ALL of these really should be Apple fixes, IMO.

As for 3rd-party developers, I'd like to see...
  • a replacement for Calendar with integrated TODo and Notes. Something similar to Pimlico Software's DateBk for the Palm.
  • a drawing notes application that would let me take drawn notes with some intelligence to be able to draw shapes as well as freehand.
  • an eBook reader that syncs with .PDF, formatted HTML, and .txt files

Oh I would like to see another app. If you hold down the home button for a few seconds, it will make a list of top 5 apps you would like to access right away without going to the home screen. I hate how you have to go to the homescreen to get to the app you want. So hold down the home button for a bit, the list will come up in the app your in, just choose what you want and your in that app.

1) Memo and Todo list sync with Outlook
2) a secure password vault application (http://code.google.com/p/iphonelockbox/)
3) PDF Reader
4) USB Drive Mounting - allow touch to be a USB storage device
5) Games - Backgammon, Chess, Go - http://www.adikus.com/backgammon/, http://www.robota.nl/products/iPhone Chess.html, http://www.robota.nl/products/iPhone iGo.html

6) Converter - http://code.google.com/p/iphone-converter/

7) Real calculator - HP12C/11C http://code.google.com/p/hpcalc-iphone/

I had a 16GB that I jailbroke. I exchanged it for the 32GB and got the 1.1.4 apps and I have not performed a Jailbreak. My concern is security. I will not commit my identity (passwords and account numbers) to a jailbroken device. I actually want a signed app and some assurance the application and device is secure. That might be a naive belief but...
