That spider has 8 legs though.

It is some sort of arachnid (has 8 legs, I think water spiders only have 6), but I'm not really sure what exactly. could be a wolf spider, they are pretty common

It actually looks pretty close to a daddy long legs. Maybe they're closely related.

daddy long legs only have 6 legs though, so they're insects. It is a similar shape though.

In my area daddy long legs refers exclusively to harvestmen spiders. Not crane flies. Sorry for the confusion.
