I downloaded a video file and it comes with two folders labeled 'CD1' and 'CD2'

Inside the folders are files labeled XXXX.r01, XXXX.r02, XXXX.r03, etc

Can I play this on my mac and if so, what application do I use?

I apologize if this is in another thread but I am not familiar with video on my mac and I am trying to get acquainted. Thanks!

they are compressed rar files or something like that.
you need to uncompress them by opening XXXX.r01 with Rar Expander or similar.

Then they'll most likely produce an .avi that quicktime or VLC Player can open

It's just the RAR file that's segmented, not the movie. The decompressor will expand the segmented RAR into the original, whole file(s).
