What macbook to buy

Hello, i need a new notebook for school and i don't know what to buy. I need to run 2 virtual machines and i need it for some documentation etc. I want to buy an ext hard drive to put my files on. What is the best macbook to buy atm. Or do i have to wait for the new rMBP

Any with 8 or 16 GB of RAM. Then it's personal preference.
