Today I just went to fix my old iMac mid 2011.

According to the repair man , he checked and is my power supply spoilt and . he replace it ,

is working now .
He also told me power button also faulty , aka means intermittance. That problem I know.

Due to urgent need the iMac , so I never get repair the power button , only the power supply.

so my question is ,

if you left your iMac 24/7 365 never turn off , only turn off the display when go to sleep
just left it on listen online radio ,

will make the power supply get faulty faster?

For most electric appliances turning it on and off is more stressful than constant running.
I never shut mine down.

but you got run any software behind?
for me i left it on is for my bot running, online radio
and BTC mining but that is browser pool mining , I doubt it will hurt the power supply
I don't know .

I do not believe you could hurt the PS in any normal usage of the computer.
If it lasted 8 years, then it has done good job already. Switching power supplies mostly suffer from electrolytic capacitors drying out.
