Looking for suggestions. Do you use a Keychron? Or something better/higher end? Low profile vs. normal height? Preferred switch solor?
 
SteelSeries APEX Pro is what I use with my current 2017 iMac 5K and planning on using with my Mac Studio.
 
Keychron K4 v2 (95%) with Gateron "browns". The K10 low-profile (100%) just became available again, I'm tempted to try it with "blues".
Rabbit hole, to be sure.
 
I use a MIYA with cherry mx brown switches.

Keychron.

It’s immensely difficult finding a mechanical keyboard that’s Bluetooth, and Mac, and ISO.

I have seen these keyboards on many youtube videos and tech channels and wondering why they are popular? are they just the nostalgic factor or practical because of the large keys compared to the current keyboards we have like magic keyboard etc ? just curious. I would be more afraid of my fingers falling into the key spacers and the noise. :D feel like FOMO on these accessories :)
 
Keychron keyboard and then switched out to Gazzew Bob U4 Silents. The switches are really impressive.

The keys are essentially the same size, its the downward travel, and the acoustic sound, and the "feel" (tactile) that sell some of us on these mechanical keyboards. And "some of us" are probably older, maybe starting out on IBM or Zenith mechanical keyboards, or REALLY older (again, like me) who started out on truly mechanical Smith-Corona typewriters (cordless!).
I can type fine on my laptop, so it may be just a nostalgia thing, but I do prefer typing on my Keychron on my desktop. It seems like I make fewer typing errors too, but I haven't rigorously tested that (some on EweTube have).

Keychron, because they are good value for money and because to the best of my knowledge there are few other options if you want a board which is at the same time:

- Mechanical hot-swappable
- Wireless/BT
- Backlit
- ISO with Mac keycaps

I customized a K8 with Kailh Box (clickbar) switches and I'm digging it, to the point that I'm considering upgrading to the new Pro version later on when they release an ISO config for it.

Yes it does. You can also program the keyboard to turn LEDs off after like 1 min of no activity or any time you setup. That’s how I have mine setup.
 
Can someone please define mechanical for me? I was under the impression that any keyboard having some kind of mechanism pushing down on switches is mechanical! Hence the mechanism!!
