So after using my 8GB iPod Touch over the weekend, I am breathing a sigh of relief b/c it looks like my unit is fine.

It seems like many of the units that are having issues are the 16 GB model, so I am conducting this poll to see what model everyone has, and if they are having any issues.

Just out of curiocitywhat is your build week is people could report that as well as your poll choice we can see if there's a connection most of them seem to be week 36 and 37 I have a 37 16gb with bad screen

More votes please. It is hard to see any sort of pattern with so few votes. It is also a bit suprising that only 30% areu nits w/o problems. This could be b/c most people w/ functioning units are not going to post to say, 'hey my unit is great!'

Correct. Upset customers with defective units are far, far more likely to take the time to say something about it then happy, satisfied customers who are off enjoying their flawless joynuggets.

How do I check the build week?

I accidently voted no screen issues, but I indeed have issues on my 16 gig.

My friend got a touch yesterday, but I had to play with it. I looked it over for about twenty minutes and couldn't find a trace of the negative blacks. It's an 8GB.

As far as I can tell, my iPod Touch is a "good" one, at least compared with some of the horror shots I've seen on here. Its a 16GB I bought on Saturday morning at Best Buy in Springfield/Eugene, Oregon. Its serial # starts with 9C7377, if that makes a difference.

My iPod is week 37. It is an 8 GB model with no screen issues.

37th week 16gig with screen issues. Took it to the apple store for a raincheck for a replacement when they have them in stock

check your device see if you can view the pic anywhere near the quality of what you see on a computer screen.

and check if you need to tilt the device to a certain angle to see the pics with better (still not good) quality.
