What name comes after "the new iPad"?

Did apple paint themselves into a corner with their new nomenclature? What will the iPad 4 be called? The newer, or newest iPad?

I prefer the ipad 3 and will be referring to mine as iPad 3 when it gets here next week.

The current iPad is not called "the New iPad". It's called the iPad. They're simply stating it's the new one.
