iPod touch What Needs Repairs?

My roommate fell off a chair with his 2nd generation iTouch in his back pocket, unlucky for him, he fell on his butt. The screen cracked (might even say shattered) and now when it powers on it is just a solid white screen (nothing else whatsoever). I was going to see about helping him fix it, but I'm not sure what need to be replaced. Glass, LCD, digitizer, etc? Any ideas what would need replacement?

Also, I'm guessing Apple won't do anything about this, correct? The iTouch isn't even a year old.

i say just about all what you just listed but i dont really know it might be better if he can afford it just buy a new one or get one off ebay. or try to see if able will fix it they might or might not

If the screen is white the LCD may be toast so I would defiantly get one of those but it could also quite easily be some other component was damaged but you wont know till you try.

Parts are cheap on ebay, the Glass\Digitizer are sold as a single piece and you should also get a new bezel which is the plastic frame\gasket that holds the glass\digitizer and the home button assembly in place.

When we get a chance (once school allows a break) we're going to try to take it into the Apple store to see what they say as well. If they can't do anything about it (which I don't expect them to) we'll look into replacing the required parts. Thanks again
