It says in notifications section that you can receive alerts, sounds, badges

What alerts do you actually get? Can't seem to see anything to get alerts when I go into the app

I have my favorite teams set up. I then set the alerts to let me know the beginning of the game, scores when they happen, and the final score. I get them the same way as if they were a text message.

Where do you go for that? I only see video alerts

Are you using the ESPN SportsCenter app?
If so, to get to the settings click on the gear in the bottom left corner.
Then click on alerts button and go from there.
