I bought a temporary UPS from best buy (APC, 1500VA), and did exactly what I was told to do by the instructions. Put the battery in, plugged in Mac Pro and monitor into the UPS, then plugged the UPS into the outlet, then turned it on. It made a beep and then my Mac Pro automatically started... not sure why that happened.

Now all the monitor will display is this (attached) which I have never seen before in my life. What is going on?

Pic of the bottom of a magic mouse, saying to put in new batteries or turn it on.

Do you have a mouse attached or hooked up?

Haha, oh good. I was worried. Alright, so when I turned the UPS on, there was a red flash that came from the front of the Mac Pro. Is that normal?

Haha, yeah I looked on the back of the Mac Pro for some sort of switch. I think apple definitely could have been more clear with that one.

I guess it does look kind of weird and might confuse people if they have never seen the back of a Magic Mouse :D
