What operating system does this pc fit ?

ok, what operating system should be recommended for this computer.

Specs:
CPU ; Intel (R) Celeron 800 mhz
GPU: Radeon 9200, Im going to update to 9250
Monitor : Emachines 19"
Keyboard: Gateway
RAM: 512MB (Pc133)
What OS is recommended for this machine?
Win 95 ,Win 98 ,Win 2000 , Win XP, Win Vista , Win 7 ???
Linux??? Mac based Leopard ????

I think a better approach would be to pick which OS you want to use, then see if your computer meets the system requirements for that OS. If you want Mac OS X, get a Mac.

Those specs resemble an old Dell that I have which runs Windows XP very well; you'll probably have difficulty finding all the drivers for anything newer, but most Linux "distros" would probably run well on your computer too.

XP wouldn't run too bad on that machine. XP is still one of my favorite operating systems.

I believe Windows XP can run very well on that machine, as well as Windows 2000 and Windows 98. Windows XP is recommended since the drivers for it are still available.
