What OS Ships?

I’m new to Macs so please pardon my lack of knowledge.

Just picked up a 2018 MacBook Pro 15” a couple days ago, brand new from the Apple Store. What OS is it supposed to ship with? Thanks.

High Sierra (10.13) or Mojave (10.14). Click on the in the upper left and "About This Mac" to check.

Thanks. It came with High Sierra installed but I was curious if it was supposed to have Mojave installed. Least the salesman told me it should have the latest OS on it.

It all depends when the MBP left the factory in China. The 2018 15" MBP original shipped OS was High Sierra.

Ok thanks. So components wise, should all be the same. I would just need to install the Mojave from the App Store, right?

Yes, you correct. The same hardware, just do a backup then upgrade to Mojave via the App Store.
