I am on AT&T, eligible for an upgrade, and will be pre-ordering through apple. Are there any shipping, activation, or upgrade fees i should know of?

If you're truly eligible for a full upgrade then the only other fee you should see is the $18 upgrade fee which will appear on your next bill. Other than that expect to pay taxes (of course) and the shipping is free through apple.

The activation fee (if you have to pay one) will be on your next phone bill, not on the purchase order.

So the $199 for the phone and then the $18 will appear on the bill later?

Also while we are here, whats up with the antennas? should i be worried about that?

And battery life? Should i worry about the decreases?

And at&t believes i still have an iphone 3g from when the 3gs launched, so yes truly eligible for full upgrade, i was eligible at the beginning of last month when my two years was up :) and here i am about to lock myself in again *sigh*

Does anyone know how much AT&T charges to ship?

Edit: Just chatted with AT&T rep, it's free through them as well.
