I'm in need of a new printer. What printers are you guys using with your macbook pro's? I just updated to the latest - mojave. My macbook pro is a mid 2012 model. I had an HP laserjet but after spending 2 days trying to get it to work - I gave up. I got a new cartridge for it and it did say ink is full again but it still would not work with my mac. It started when I went to Mojave so I'm guessing a software issue.... but couldn't find any updates or ones that would work with the mac. So time to move on.
I really hate HP's! I've gone thru 3 of them in a short amount of time. they don't seem to last even with me not using it much. I don't print often. I don't want to spend a ton of money either - I don't need anything fancy. No scanner etc.... Just a good reliable printer that works.

If you're done with HP, I've always had good experiences with Canon printers for home use. I would recommend taking a look at the imageClass MF641CW. It's one of the more affordable color laser printers out there, but has a huge color screen and can connect over Wi-Fi. It's also $20 off at Costco right now.

I hate to say it, but so far our best printers have been HP. What model laserjet do you have and how are you connecting to it Wifi, ethernet, or ???

I'd try deleting the old printer driver, then completely re-installing, before giving up on the old printer.

But... if even that doesn't help... and you're in the mood for a new one... and "b&w laser" fits your needs...

... I'd suggest looking at the Brother "all-in-ones" (printer, copier, scanner).

Brother or Epson with WIFI, because cheap 3rd party inks
my Epson is about 7 years old and still working flawlessly

AirPrint capable laser printer, imo. Currently using a Brother printer ($90) after getting rid of the old Brother 3-in-1 (Brother dropped support on it years ago, and became too squirrelly on getting it to print or scan).

Since can scan with iPhone/iPad, no need for basic document scanner, and never sent a fax, and rarely print anything these days (eg. Tickets, boarding passes are eDocuments these days, print/keep documents as PDF, etc), so...

If can wait a month, I'd hold out, since something you buy today might not be supported under Catalina.
