What Programs Run Even When Phone Is On Standby?

My phone has been shutting off after being idle for longer than 30 sec. I figured out that if itunes is playing the phone won't shut down! Does anyone know of another program that would use less battery power that I could use to keep my phone running when on standby?

Or do you know what I might to do fix my phone permanently? I already re-unlocked and jailbroke it. Thanks!

um what do you mean shutting off after 30 secs? do you mean it just goes to sleep (which is normal behaviour) or do you want the screen on at all times for some reason???
