Hi,

i have a 20" imac on its way with 2gb of ram. But want to upgrade to 4gb. I have looked on google and on forums to see what type of ram i need.

im pretty sure its:

PC3-8500 200-pin 1066 MHz.

But when searching, there seems to be a lot more with 204 pin which say apple memory? Is it definatly 200-pin?

Also i want to get a good quality (ish) one.

I live in the UK so dont have all the american shops. But found this..

PNY on Play.Com

Can anyone find anything better quality? Will pay more if its much better, and does it actually make any difference?

Try crucial. Just select which iMac you have from the menu options and it will tell you what memory you need and you can also purchase it from there :)

thanks

Thankyou for the help. I almost bought a 200 pin, so good i didnt do that lol.

I have now bought a crucial 2x2GB ram set from their website in 204 pin.

Will update with wether it works when it comes.
