Hi, excuse my ignorance.... I have a mid 2010 MBP (15" 2.4ghz, etc.) and I'm ready to upgrade my ram, but I have a few questions.

1. Is their a particular brand that you recommend? I know the apple brand ram is too expensive.

2. Since I have 4gb of ram, can I just buy another 4gb or do I have to buy an entirely new 8gb?

3. Is 8gb my limit?

Thanks. The most intensive programs I run are logic and pro-tools but both these programs tend to crash on me in the middle of a session, so I'm trying to remedy that. I also intend on installing a 7200rpm drive to improve the computers performance.

Thanks!

1. Check otherworldcomputing.com (I've had good luck with them), there are other sources too such as newegg, amazon, ebay etc. Up to you where you want to go.

2. You most likely have two 2GB sticks so you would have to buy two 4GB sticks.

3. Perhaps.
