Patriot 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 333 (PC 2700) Notebook Memor

is this brand any good?

I can find it for around $100 compared to the Apple brand 1GB for $300.

btw is there a warranty for the apple brand at the store?

The Patriot -- does the seller state that it is compatible with your model Mac?

(We can't help because you haven't told us what Mac you have.)

PC2700 is only for iBook G4 and PowerMac Aluminum G4 up to Oct 2005. The HD screen (DL model) Powerbook 15" and 17" use different RAM as does the MacBook Pro.

The 15" 1.0 and 1.25 and the 17" 1.0 and 1.33GHz Powerbook G4's have significant problems with generic RAM, go with the Samsung genuine modules on those Macs.

Apple gives a 1 year warranty on the RAM you buy from them.
It is much better to find a reputable third party seller who tests and guarantees compatibility with your model Mac, offers a lifetime warranty, and a no-cost return (no restocking charges) if it doesn't work.

(and it is instructive to do a Search of the forum before posting, we have covered "xx RAM in a Powerbook" several dozen times...)

Thanks

I bought this memory for my powerbook (see sig.)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145068

Ive had no problems with it and you can also read the reviews on the newegg site for this item. There has been quite a few happy apples (apple customers)

Also, crucial is a popular brand for macs. Just search it here on this site alone.

Hope this helps.

ok i just bought the crucial, hope it gives my powerbook the boost i feel it's lacking!

Ok just received my new ram, slapped it and now my computer is blazing!!! I never see the spinning beach ball anymore!
