I have connected my monitor LG 27UD88 via USB-C to the MacBook Pro (2017 model). If in the monitor settings I set the resolution to "standard for monitor" the picture looks good, but everything is also quite large. With one of the scaled resolutions, the size is already better, but the image does not seem so clear any longer. And I'm also wondering if the MacBook might lose performance in this case.

Have you for a technically quite inexperienced in this area perhaps a few info / tips?

Thanks and best regards, Oxyde

The default is just too large. I have been using 3008x1692 for a while, but now settled with on 2560x1440. In my view, it provides the best size/resolution and image/text quality.

I would think there is a performance hit when you opt for a higher the resolution, as there is more screen real estate to for the GPU to manage.
