I use "Things" on MBP and iTouch. Synchronisation is achieved by having MPB and touch on the same local net and running Things on both at the same time - when it happens is controlled by Things and can be initiated when Things is running on one platform by starting it on the other - at which point they sync with each other. I do this over my wireless network.
I notice if Things is running on the iTouch but it goes to sleep then I start things on the MBP then it syncs even though the touch is asleep. This must mean that while asleep both things and the wireless network access are running. Hmmmm ... expensve on charge use.
Is it really asleep or is things just making it pretend to be asleep. I had always thought that the network access was not running while the touch was asleep yet it seems its still running. This has got to use up the battery charge a fair bit.
So - under what circumstances does the wireless network on the touch remain active ? Do I need to switch off the wireless when the touch is alseep for a few hours ?
I suspect that its just things continuing to run but blanking the screen - is this true ? If so its naughty because one could easily leave it in that state for hours unknowingly and run down the charge.
