Every person is different when it comes to their preference for screen size. The point of this poll is to try to figure out what is the most preferred size amongst users.

I went for a 4' screen.
I think the 3.5 is nice but it looks a bit small nowadays.
But anything above 4 seems to large for me. But thats my opinion.

I Love 3.5"

There are a lot of other phones who have screen sizes above 3.5". While this may be nice, I think it is getting accessive.

3.5" has worked well for so long! It's a magical size- its perfect to read things on, great to type on and fits very well in your pocket.

I think anything above 4" begins to borderline a mini-tablet.

Really, it's magical? I'm sure if the first iPhone had a 4" screen to begin with you would be saying the same thing.

I think a bigger screen would be better, especially for people who do a lot of reading on their phones (such as myself).

I wouldn't mind any bigger screen size as long as the phone overall doesn't get too big. Don't want to carry around a brick.

Battery life > bigger screen though

This. Android Phones have huge screens but they have touch sensitive buttons, if the new iPhone didn't have that, but did have say, a 4.3" screen, the phone itself would be huge! Not to mention the Facetime camera, proximity sensor and earpiece!

Agree with all of your points. Plenty of room on the current iPhone footprint to increase the display size.

I think 4.0" would be perfect. I wouldn't mind a slightly larger phone if it means they can pack a larger battery inside.

I'd be fine with 3.5 - 4, but I'd be interested in seeing how a larger screen like 4.5 could be implemented by Apple, hardware wise and software wise.

I have owned a wide range of Android devices and iPhone 4, 4S. I can base on my smallest Android phone Droid Incredible to my largest Android Phone Galaxy Nexus the optimal screen size really is 4".

I do a lot with my iPhone, and I don't have (and NOT everyone can afford) an iPad so to expect users to get a $400-900 iPad just so they can have that larger screen is absurd.

Apple does innovate quite a lot, but they also drag their ever lovin feet when it comes to real upgrades to the iPhone.

They will need a larger battery to support LTE & Siri so the casing will likely be larger and they need to make more internal room for the battery so things will need to change.

is anyone going to forward this thread to apple?

Someone should give it a try...maybe there should be more votes first, oh and 4.3 or 4.5+ should be the nominee :p
