I'm a future MBP 15'' owner, I should be ordering by this thursday or friday and I wanted to know which shipping service Apple used to ship to Canada.

I'm asking because I've had extremely bad experiences with UPS in the past and I am hoping they don't use them.

Looking foward to seeing this thingy when I turn on my computer!:apple:

I believe that you have the option to choose your shipping options. In the US you can use UPS, FedEx, or DHL, so I'd assume you would have similar options in Canada.

TEG

I received mine through Fedex. It came without any problems - no dents, no scratches. Apple packaging definitely makes sure everything is in mint condition when it arrives.

P.S. I'm in Ontario.

Depends on what you are ordering but most laptops I've ordered through them has been sent using Fedex (to Ontario). It probably depends more on where the item is being shipped from than where it is being shipped to. The laptops seem to ship from China and those I've received from Fedex. Applecare, printers and bags seem to ship from the US so those have come from UPS and Purolator for me.

But don't worry, there are no additional customs, brokerage, duty, or taxes when the package arrives (or worse, when an invoice comes in the mail weeks later).

/QUOTE]

Everytime I had ordered through apple store online, it's been shipped via FedEx. And no, we don't have the option to choose the carrier (if you go via the web store) I don't know if they offer it if you pass via telephone.

By calling Apple support you can make a request for a certain shipper as well as make the request for overnight delivery which the online site makes no mention of.

sorry,

Overnight delivery? You've got me interested, but this must come at a premium, no?

So long as it isn't UPS, I'm happy, heck I'd be happy with the basic Canadapost service.

FedEx for me (Vancouver).

And yeah, expect to track it from China, then maybe Korea, to Alaska...then Memphis.

I'm looking forward to tracking it about every 5 minutes while waiting for it to arrive.

I'll be ordering the 15'' base model, with the 7200rpm drive and remote, may or may not be ordering some ram along with it, I think I'll try it out as it is first.

I saw that a person posted earlier that he had it overnighted but missed the fedex man and was all mad. So I just checked out Apple's offical overnight policy to check his accuracy and they state that they'll only ship overnight to people within the U.S. and the product has to originate within the U.S. I noticed that he had ordered a refurbished mbp so chances are it shipped from within the states. Overnight shipping for a new order from China is not posible. Sorry for not checking my sources earlier.

Both my BTO lappys came via fedex, my ipod mini came via dhl (and what a cluster**** that was).
I've always chosen the fastest shipping possible, so that probably determines shipper

I am in Calgary FYI

goes from:
Shanghai -> Alaska -> Memphis -> Calgary

For the couple of years and a dozen orders, it seems Apple uses Fedex for big ticket items and smaller items with Canada Post. (at least to Winnipeg).

you probably have your MBP by now huh?
i ordered the software Wednesday and got it all today-standard shipping.
my MBP pro hasn't been shipped yet:(

That's because the MacBook Pro Pro hasn't been invented yet :p

But seriously, if yours is built to order, it will take longer to ship. And even if it's not, it states on the page it will take 2-3 days to ship. I ordered my BTO MBP on the 26th of February, and it didn't ship until the 5th of March. I got my Time Capsule a full week before my MBP because they ship them out when they're available. There's nothing worse than having to wait to play with a new toy :( but at least the TC made the wait for the MBP just that much more bearable.

Edit: Sorry, I just double checked and it says within 24 hours for non-BTO computers. Wasn't thinking clearly.

Yep, I've got it, no defects whatsoever, my dream machine!
