The great state of Texas
I got the entry level rMBP, not enough hard drive space.
How do you default a rMBP before returning it?
A quick search shows I need the OS cd to re-image the pc.

Boot with the option key and go into recovery mode. From there you can get to Disk Utility which can erase your data for you.

Don't bother unless you're very concerned about your personal data. Apple will erase it before it's in another customer's hands.
