I turned in about 22,000 ThankYou Credit Card points for a free white 8GB iPod touch 4. I was thinking about giving it to my girlfriend, but what are some other uses I could use this thing for?

-Home Security and Automation control (have equipment already for doing so from my iPhone)
-Universal Remote?
-Just sell it or give it to a kid who could use one.

give it to your girlfriend, OR sell it and add extra money for iPod Touch 5G :D

Home security systems are a business to cash in on the paranoia of white suburbans, and rarely do they actually prevent robberies. More often they annoy and waste the time of the local police department. So I wouldnt use the iPod for that.

If you wont personally use it, i'd sell it on ebay/craigslist, or give it as a gift if you know someone who really wants one and will use it.

I don't really care much for the actual security aspect of my security system, I care about turning my lights, changing the temp, and home automation aspect of my security system. PLUS, I already have the system in place, but my phone comes with me, it would be nice to leave something at home for other's to use if their phones aren't at hand.

Also, the notification aspect is nice too (are all my doors locked? etc)
