I recently got the 32gb iPod touch (4g) and I used to have the old 16gb iPod touch (1g)
I was wondering what I should do with my old one because I know it won't be worth lots of money?:apple:

-Hand it down to someone in your family
-keep it and use it for a specific task (gym/jogging/car stereo)
-keep it for when you have a guest who wants to check their emails or facebook, instead of giving them your new iPod, hand them your old iPod touch.
-craigslist, you can get around $100 for it. It may not be much, but thats $100 that you didn't have.

Generally every time I upgrade my iPhone or iPod (nano/touch/classic/shuffle) to a newer model, I just hand them down to someone in my family or to a friend (they love me for it).

  • Buy an AppleTV and use it as a remote control
  • Buy a speaker w/ built-in iPod dock and keep it permanently there
  • Keep it permanently assigned to your car

Or maybe the best idea yet -- my 8 year old nephew *insists* there are secret crystals inside my iPod touch that can also be used to power light sabres. So you could always tear it down to find out... :apple:

you could make it a movie player. buy a universal dock + video out cable from apple, get movies on your ipod, hook up to TV.
and if you carry around the cable to hotels, you don't have to pay $15 to watch a movie once.
rent on itunes, $4, watch on TV.
