So I bought my macbook pro 13" a little less than a year ago, in february. Since having it, I have been using it literally every day for mainly word processing and logic pro. After my digidesign interface crashed my logic board and messed up my battery, applecare put a new battery and logic board in there, and for the first few months after, it was fine. I also put a new hard drive in there (got an authorized repair shop to do it), and it was also working fine after that. Recently, though, i've been having some problems with it. I already reset the SMC, which helped a little, but I am still having some pretty big problems.
1. Battery- After plugging it in, I have to keep plugging it in and unplugging it until I don't get a "not charging" message. When I option click the battery, it says it's in normal condition. It's not my charger, as this happens on other chargers I've tried. Also, the battery's charge is pretty pathetic.
2. It runs surprisingly slow for having a 2.53 ghz processor and 4g of ram. In logic, I'm getting a fair amount of latency and "too many tracks" messages, and when I'm watching videos online, mainly youtube, the screen freezes while the audio keeps going. I was doing a quick project with only one audio track, and I constantly got messages for that.
There are other smaller problems too, but i won't bore you with those. I already ran an onyx, cleared the SMC, and did a massive hard drive cleanup, and every software update, but i'm having these problems. I'm almost ready to just wipe it out, but that's a problem for me because I'm up at school without my logic discs, and I have many custom preferences and stuff that would be pretty tedious to reset. I do take a time machine backup, though.
I do have full applecare, but if I take it to a store, would my aftermarket hard drive void the warranty?
Thanks.
