Hey guys, straight to the point: as an owner of a late-2007 20" iMac sporting C2D clocked at 2GHz and 4GB of RAM, I just found someone who's willing to but it from me for 450. I bought that machine in January 2008 (I also bought AppleCare for there was just one-year warranty at that time). First question to you: is that a good deal? During its life, that machine has had the RAM upgraded from 2 to 4 gigs and the wired mouse replaced with the wireless magic one.
Second part: the upgrade. As of now, we all are waiting for Apple to make a move. I have the opportunity of buying the low-end 2011 iMac for 1130 (8gb RAM). I am interested in the possibility of a matte screen for I hate gloss (it's as sexy as much as it kills my eyes) and I would mind to pay that money for old-ish technology. The point is, I'm computerless. At the moment, my iMac is packaged inside its original box and ready to be sold. I'm writing from my brother's MacBook which he's not going to lend me that easily again.
I do have a smartphone but I cannot live with that thing only until the release of the Ivy Bridge iMacs.
What's your suggestion? Sell (or sell not) to buy now or to wait at least until the release of ML?
Thanks.
