I'm at the point where I'm going to sell my 17" 2.4Ghz MacBook Pro. I'm not sure if i should replace it with whatever updated 17" comes out or to buy 2 MacBooks.

I also have a Mac Pro and since buying that I find that any serious work gets done on that machine with the MBP being used for email and web browsing, which seems a waste.

Getting 2 MacBooks would mean that I could give one to my wife and have one for myself.

What do you guys think would be the best thing to do?

I guess the burning question here is can you manage going from a 17" screen to a 13" screen?

I recently sold my 2.2GHz Macbook Pro and have been thinking of getting a Macbook instead of continuing with this waiting game, but I think the screen is a little too small for me.

Dude, I grew up in Liverpool!

On topic; I see your point but i feel that I'm wasting the fact that I have this awesome laptop on email and web browsing. With Tabbed browsing and Spaces I'm not sure if I'm missing out on so much.

To be honest the wife wants me to get another 17" but I think thats because she's pandering to my geek sensibilities :eek:
 
Give the macbook to your wife you get kudos. I know from experience.
 
Definitely invest in 2 MB's b/c you said yourself that your not going to be doing anything to intensive. Plus your wife will be pumped i bet! :D
 
I decided to sell the 17" and get the base 15" when they are updated. Any left over cash will be funneled into getting a Canon 40d :D

My wife loves her MB. She takes it with her to work and does a lot of writing in bed. And it keeps her off my computers.
