I noted I could order a Vision Pro online and pick it up at the store tomorrow. I usually prefer to order in store and talk to a person, but I was curious what the protocol is in store. They don’t have any demos available tomorrow (I wasn’t looking for one) but is their protocol to make me demo it, try on face straps, etc before leaving? I have about 90 minutes total free, and wasn’t sure if was worth putting off until I have much more time available.

When I picked mine up, I did not have a demo booked. They work with me for about 30 minutes, letting me go through the demo if I wanted to and finding the right fit, you’ll have no issues with 90 minutes of free time.

I think every pickup actually internally books a demo as well. But they ask if you just want to pickup or want to go through the demo, in total it was about 45 minutes (But this was 8:30am day 1 and the employees were having issues resetting the demo units from the first batch.)

If I decide to get my questions answered before ordering, am I able to walk in without a demo and purchase then and there? Sorry for the thousand questions, trying to plan a trip around some stuff. :)

I ordered mine, got a time for the next day, but showed up an hour early since I was coming from a hundred miles away. I had to wait until my appointed time since the slots are apparently timed and pretty well filled, but the girl who greeted me asked if I wanted the demo or just take the box and leave. So the demo is optional.

Oh wait, so if I order online they’re going to tell me what time to pick it up? It’s not come when you can? That’s useful to know.

When they say your order is ready, you can pick it up any time. The demo is optional. Here is part of the message.

Your items are ready for pickup during store hours.

Check store hours.

Your order will be held for 7 days.

Thank you! I‘m going to go in when they open to see if I can order at that time and get my questions answered. I understand I can get FSA reimbursement on the lenses, for example, so don’t want to finance those for 12 months if don’t have to. I appreciate it!

Don't forget your driver's license, or other ID. While we were there, someone walked in for a pickup (not an AVP) and had a credit card but not an ID. Store personnel would not complete the transaction without it.

I realize this is for the Vision Pro pickup but it’s the same: Got my battery changed yesterday and this is definitely current protocol for any pickup. They do make it clear you can’t pick up the device without it. Overall great experience as always and it’s been years since I had any work done.

Oh and by the way, if you have a battery that is under 80%, for the love, just pay them the $89 to replace the battery. Your device is much slower than you realize. Just goes to show you how good the low power A series cores are these days. Feels like I have a brand new phone (I have a 12 Pro Max), iOS 17 is not slow on it with a fresh battery by any means.
