I am a huge fan of TV series, with some of the best being Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Americans, Narcos, The People vs. OJ Simpson, Fargo, The Killing, The Bridge, OJ: Made In America, etc. Here are the ones I am clamoring for, along with a highly anticipated movie:

1. Better Call Saul - Season 5
2. Fargo - Season 4
3. Ozark - Season 3
4. Cobra Kai - Season 3
5. Top Gun Maverick - The trailer is awesome:

I just completed watching all of The Americans, The Night Manager, and The Hot Zone. Am now re-watching Better Call Saul, currently in Season 2.

Curious what other folks are waiting for.

I’m waiting for the last (?) Star Wars movie: The Rise if Skywalker. It opens December 20 and we already have our tickets.

Cool. Yet, every time I watch that "Top Gun Mavericks" trailer, I get all fired up! And the reaction of folks to that trailer, especially when it first dropped on YouTube in July, is awesome!

That’s a good looking trailer. I hope it’s not just a retread of the first one. Seems like they’re going to explain why this wasn’t made in 1990 instead of 2019.

And how did they do that opening scene with Mav flying about 10 feet off the desert floor?!? That was incredibly dangerous! Of course, every Tom Cruise movie has to include something incredibly dangerous. It’s like a requirement or something.

Definitely! Not sure why folks never saw it back in July. There was ALOT of buzz about it back then.

You can do google searches of "Top Gun Maverick", and such searches on YouTube. I have done them both, and nothing really definitive why it wasn't made in 1990. But there are other fascinating tidbits about the movie that one can read. One is that Jon Hamm (of Mad Men fame) is in it! I also understand that Val Kilmer (aka Iceman) makes an appearance also.

Yeah, that was amazing! And the scene in the trailer that really "touches/excites" me is about 1/2 way through, when it says "In 2020", then shows Maverick 1) putting on the infamous jacket, 2) grabbing the sun glasses, and 3) pulling the cover off the motorcycle. The music playing in the background (from the original Top Gun) is truly awesome!

I was curious about Kilmer’s involvement. I understand he has some serious health issues.

Yeah, so am I. I have seen nothing "written" about the details of his involvement. In fact, not many details at all. Nothing about Jon Hamms's role (he is a 3 star admiral in it). And here is a "story" about Tom Skerritt (Viper in Top Gun):

One thing I have read about the movie is that Tom Cruise is now an instructor at Top Gun, and Goose's son is one of his students.

Skerritt is 86. They might wheel him in for a moving death scene, but that’s about it.

“Maverick, go get those drones or I’ll die.” (Coughs, dies, and kicks over previously unseen pain can)

Kidding. I’m sure the hub will insist on seeing it. He likes to say that everything he learned about life came from Top Gun. “Never leave your wing man.”

Did not know he is that old. Found out recently that he retired up here in Seattle (thus "kind of" my neighbor!). And h is still doing some work up here.

Years away:

Disney+

Kenobi
Moon Knight (My reason for subscribing to D+ besides Kenobi)
Cassian Andor series
The Falcon & The Winter Soldier

Movies:

The Lighthouse (This was quite good and weird.)

Doctor Sleep (Not much for The Shining, but I like Ewan and am curious as to how this will play out)

In Fabric (I liked this too)

Black Widow

Maybe Doctor Strange 2

Whatever 60-90s foreign or American genre movie I can see. Would love to catch more Shaw Brothers on the big screen.

Honestly, not into most films now though, but if The Lighthouse is as well crafted as The VVitch, I'll definitely give Robert Eggers my time for any movies he makes going forward (Yep. He's very talented).

I'll probably be cajoled into seeing The Rise of Skywalker (Yep, not a fan). I remain more interested in SW television now.
