Hi all,

I'm now thinking of either a 128GB 12" IPP or maybe the new 256GB.

I won't fill it day to day, but it would great to fill it for flights etc.

I only have 2 things purchased through iTunes: Dream/Killer movie & The Complete West Wing series, both in 1080p, hence why I'd like to know sizes.

The West Wing is a priority for me, so I'd be keen to find out how big that whole package is (7 series at 24 episodes per series) as I'd love for that to be able to live on there and be able to add stuff for travelling without worrying about space.

Many thanks.

If it's a 1 hour show, a 1080p file is roughly 2-3GB if properly compressed. No way you are going to get 7 seasons on any iPad in 1080p.

Wow thanks.

I didn't realise that even iTunes purchased shows were still that large in 1080p.

[Edit] - Just to add that each episode is about 42 minutes long.

That's why I prefer SD video files for download to my iPad.
There's no way that I would watch SD videos on a screen like the iPad has.

I decided that 256gb wasn't really justifiable in the end, so I got a 128gb 12.9" and a pencil, with 12% discount and a 2 year guarantee via my son from John Lewis (UK).

Thanks everyone.
