Since my MacBook Pro has liquid damage I am just going to purchase a ne Mac. I think I am ready to make the switch to an iMac, though it will be a transition not having a laptop.

I am on a budget so how large of a hard drive do I really need?

I am a typical user I suppose. Since I am not in school anymore my activity of projects etc have decreased.
I do plan on doing more with photography soon.

How much are you using at the moment? You can always add external storage so I would just go with the smallest HD and save the extra $.

The stock drive is more than enough for 95% of users, which you are one of.

Adding more storage is cheap, $60 for 1TB, $100 for 2TB.

I just got 1tb. Gonna get a 3tb external hard drive from western digital, or seagate.
