Just wondering what the clock speed of everyone's main Mac is...

My main Mac is a G4 450(see my profile). My family's main Mac is a G4 800.
So I vote for G4 less than 500.

867

I have an 867G4 with 1.2GB RAM, 2x 60GB HDs, SoundSticks and iSub, Apple 17in LCD, and a Wireless network to connect the house up.

My main[e] Macs would be my Firewire iBook at 466MHz, and my iMac at 233MHz. :D

My most used Mac...you should know. If not, profile, duh. :p

The G4 I use at work is a 733MHz, but my own home TiBook is an 800MHz model... The tower at work is the last model before they went to the QuickSilver flavor, so it has the superdrive inside... :D

500Mhz PowerBook G4........

But that is changing in Feb 03..... for something with a little more poke...... heh heh... ;) :D

I have 3 main machines, although the two power macs are current dead but I have just got the money to get them repaired after the power surge. They are:

Powerbook G4 500
Powermac Dual800 + 867
Powermac Dual500 (OC to 533)

All these machines belong to my work par the Powerbook, I had a 667 powerbook but when it fell fowl to the power surge work took it for repair and never gave it me back :) Its now in use in part of the design dept.

For the last week at work I have been using a 2 Dual 1-ghz G4s because there was nobody to work on them because of the CW Games.

yeah, that 500mhz was annoying, now that it is out of the way I think it will be a slow but sucsessful catchup :)

300 mhz ibook
366 mhz pc laptop

...i guess i have to be thinking about new machines

i have my eyes set on basic ibook at $1199 for home use and basic pc desktop (compaq 1.4 ghz celeron w/monitor) for $799 for pc repair business and testing pc software

I have a PowerBook G3 400 MHz (Pismo). I hope to get a new PowerBook when/if they hit 1 GHz.

Me too! I think there are quite alot of people around here waiting for the magic 1Ghz CPU to hit the TiBook :D

I still think the Pismo is a great machine, non-fragile, not that the TiBook is fragile but it seems to be :) I also think the Pismo is great looking.

Yeah??? How 'great looking' are the wear marks from where your hands sit while using the keyboard?? :p :D

...and an L3 cache. When they went to the quicksilver I think they got rid of that on the 733...Proof from everymac.com:
For the graphite version:
*. Custom configurations were available, standard configuration listed.
1. The PPC G4 includes the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processor.
2. Boot ROM is around 1 MB, other instructions loaded in RAM (NewWorld).
3. 256k on-chip level 2 cache runs at processor speed (733 MHz).
4. 1 MB backside level 3 cache runs at 1/3 processor speed (244 MHz).
5. Noninterleaved, 168-pin, 64-bit-wide 8ns PC133 SDRAM (3.3v).
6. A 32 MB NVIDIA GeForce2 MX Graphics card occupies an 4X AGP slot.
7. Ultra160 SCSI drives were also available.
8. Burn DVD-R at 2X, read DVD at 6X, burn CD-RW at 4X, read CD at 24X.
9. An optional internal Zip 250 drive was available.
A. Four full-length 64-bit, 33 MHz PCI slots.
B. 1 3.5" bay is external (w/o Zip) 2 3.5" free bays are internal (w/ 1 HD).
See the L3 cache there...
For the QS version:

8. An optional internal Zip 250 drive is available.
9. Four full-length 64-bit, 33 MHz PCI slots.
A. 1 3.5" bay is external (w/o Zip) 2 3.5" free bays are internal (w/ 1 HD).
Where's the L3 cache?
See...

Never thought of that, infact I have only used a Pismo a few times, I never owned one, although I do have a PowerBook G3Series under my bed somewhere ;)

my main Mac is my 500 MHz TiBook...

however, I do use a 400 MHz PowerMac at work...but only decided to vote once since I don't technically own it... ;)

So, where does that put my dual 800? Wait, don't answer that! I just bought the thing in June at a very reduced price, so it doesn't hurt much.
