I have this device and yes when I hold it that way it drops from 5 down to 1 bar but then if i keep holding it the same way it goes back up to 5 on its own. Obviuosly the system is compensating somehow. The iPhone does not do this.
Actually what is it doing in increasing output power on the antenna to compensate.
This lowers your battery life though.
The FCC, since the iPhone has a design flaw (shut up fanboys!) would probably allow apple to raise output power. This would lower your battery life though..
This all increases radiation which is the issue. You are only allowed to have so much power.
Ill buy that. Now I wonder if they will allow this in a future SW update or if it is just not possible since you are "shorting" out the anntenna rather than just blocking RF.
