Popular Apple Arcade game What the Golf? for the Vision Pro is being updated with a slew of new content, with Apple adding 15 new areas with more than 100 spatial levels and 200 challenges to complete.

What the Golf? is, as the name suggests, a mini golf game aimed at people who hate golf. The goal is to get the ball to the hole, and every hole has a twist with different game mechanics to overcome.

The game has been around on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS since 2019, plus it launched on Vision Pro in February, but there is new content to play on the Vision Pro this week. Apple says players will experience more cowboys, portals, eggs, crabs, sneaky cardboard boxes, and more.

On the Vision Pro, a pinch of the fingers lets users set up the perfect shot, with the golf course able to be played anywhere in the home. What the Golf? can be downloaded from the App Store on the Vision Pro headset.

Other Apple Arcade titles getting updates this week include Ridiculous Fishing EX, Tamagotchi Adventure Kingdom, Solitaire Stories, and Fruit Ninja Classic.

I don't know man, VR games always look so annoying to play. And why do I want the golf course in my living room? That feels less immersive.

This for gaming is so silly, especially for $3500. If you want a good VR for gaming, buy the PSVR or the Meta Quest.
Absolutely.

Playing Half Life:Alyx on the quest was the first moment of genuine terror and immersion I’ve had in VR. Insane at times that game.

Good to know. Would have been nice if it were available as a standalone game without Apple Arcade.

They really need to get some controllers (and support for 3rd party ones) pushed out.

It will open up gaming interest in a way that human hand/eye control simply can't

The dwindling amount of comments on Vision articles is telling about the overall interest in this product.

yep the haters have gone on a new topic to hate.. I think last week it was the shocker that OLED screen produced patterns on grays at low light that had zero relevance to normal use but was a apple has failed us crisis none the less... and those of us that own them have gotten bored of the drama brought on. But I spent tonight editing 21691 × 9721 pixels panoramas stitched together in Lightroom of a sunset I took with my mirrorless that did make me pause and feel privileged to enjoy such technology. But carry on.

Just curious if you have actually tried an AVP yet? Regardless, how about have you ever taught someone how to ride a bicycle? At some point you have to take off the training wheels. Controllers are the answer for lazy developers, training wheels for AR. If you never take them off, you will never learn to really ride, develop the right hand gestures/recognition. Sure, I see the short term gains of your controllers, but Apple is betting on the long term and as an actual AVP owner I support that decision. Getting rid of controllers is required for the future so this whole category can become more than gaming toys. But sure, focus on the gaming. :)

Nothing beats this.

You need House of the Dead, Virtua Cop and Time Crisis to understand.
