What the **** happened to Photoshop Elements' interface?

I just installed the latest Photoshop Elements...

The new interface is, ahem, not to my liking. It doesn't feel like I'm using a Mac.

Is this new interface also used in the full version of Photoshop?

Good point. I did read one very positive review in a publication I trust (The Age, Melbourne) The thing is, I had been using the earlier version of Elements quite happily, so I assumed this one would be even better.

Get out of full screen mode? Not sure.

Photoshop CS3 also has that mode, but it is optional and you can get back to the "traditional" view from the View / Screen Mode menu. Does Elements have that menu option?
