iPhone What the heck is this colored square in my status bar?

I obviously have a few status bar customizations going on here (Zeppelin, StatusBarCustomClock4, MuteIcon, Bolt) and they all work great -- but can anyone tell me what tweak this yellow square comes from?

Sometimes I see it in red.

It only just started appearing recently, and I have no idea what tweak it comes from, or what it means. My best guess at this point is that it has something to do with the temperature of the device, because the only pattern I can detect is that it happens when I am out and about and using the device a lot and it feels warm... but that could be a complete coincidence here.

I just want to know what this icon comes from, what it means, and how to turn it off. I don't have any tweaks installed that deal with weather, device temperature, or anything else obvious. My Google-Fu has failed me on this one. Anyone?

Its probably a setting in one of the Status bar tweaks that you have. Find your tweak in the settings app and see if there is something to do with the device temp. That is the only thing I can think of unless there are settings in another tweak that you have.

I don't know that tweak that does it but I think it is the data flow icon. I'll ask my mate in Sunday as I know it's on his 4s

I have (obviously) already checked those, thoroughly. There's nothing in any of them about device temp.

LowPowerSquare and QuickLock 2 put the red square in the status bar.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure springtomize has a toggle to turn off a square in the status bar which makes me believe its a stock icon. I don't have springtomize installed anymore so I can't check.

Anyways, do you by any chance have either of those two tweaks installed?

Edit: Post all your installed packages. It might be easier to find it that way. It doesn't have to be a status bar tweak necessarily. For example, I just read NinjaSMS puts a yellow square in the status bar which looks very similar to your picture. Any chance you have that installed?

Edit again: Just realized the poster before me already mentioned NinjaSMS. My bad.

I do not have SMSNinja, LowPowerSquare, or QuickLock 2 installed.

I also don't see anything about turning off a square in Springtomize's "status bar" section.

I will thin out my installed tweaks, and post an installed list. Is there an app I can run that makes that easiest?

There are new threads popping up with others having the same issue. Because it is intermittent (and seems to be associated with device temperature) it is not easy to replicate.

Personally I'm thinking it has something to do with "libstatusbar" as that's a dependency installed by many status tweaks, and it's not removed when you uninstall the main file. This means that even if you "uninstall everything" (as one poster on Reddit says he has) the icon will still appear. And no, libstatusbar has no user configurable settings.

I also think this square is meant to reference something called "Thermal Color"(perhaps this is device temperature?) There is an option to move it around in StatusTweak.

The question is, how do we turn if OFF, if we don't have a tweak installed with configurable settings for it (or even know for sure what's enabling it for appearance in the first place?)

No, it's the alien alert box. Tells you when they are coming to give you your months anal probe

Oh wait that's right, there are no aliens. That was just a cover story made by the government to hide the tracking devices etc.

Yeah it tells you when they are locked on cause you are too close to their secret offices.
