I am now considering having my iPhone 4 shipped to my house, but I need to have it by 12pm, as I am leaving til late that night then.

When you got your 3GS were you guaranteed to have it by a specific time? Like I know FedEx and UPS have a specific overnight that but be there by 10am or something like that. Do you get this option in checkout? Or do they just send it how ever they want?

Also let me ask, how was it shipped? FedEx Ground? Overnight? Priority? UPS?

Arrived to my office at 11:30 AM on June 19th, 2009 :) Overnight Fedex. Tracking number didn't work until 11:30 PM the night before.

I don't recall any "by 10am" specific option at checkout. If I recall I think there were simply two options; a regular and an overnight. There was some dispute about what you needed to do but if I recall correctly the ultimate answer was that the regular shipping would have it to you on launch day. I chose this option and the phone showed up at my house somewhere between 9:30 and 10:00am.

I usually receive my Apple products from FedEx. However, I have read on here that people have received them from UPS as well.

The time that it gets delivered is the usual time that these companies deliver to your house. For instance, FedEx usually comes in the morning, but UPS always delivers around 6:00 p.m.

You can call your local FedEx or UPS and ask when the driver would usually bring packages to your address. I know my UPS guy usually gets on my block really late (around 5-6pm). I know my FedEx guy gets around the morning.

1 phone was shipped FedEx, showed up about 9:45AM. The other was shipped UPS, showed up around 4:00PM.

Someone earlier said that there are 2 shipping options- regular, adnd overnight. Were these both on the same option? I will pay extra to have it here in the morning and not have to wait in line. Think maybe if I call AT&T or Apple I can specify which service I would like used? FedEx gets here at 10am, which UPS is 3pm.

AT&T actually offered overnight shipping for an extra charge...

Ill pay the extra charge, knowing that it will be sent out FedEx rather than UPS. Lol

Can you presign for the iPhone like you can with other Apple products if you won't be home?

Perfect date for a dentist appointment smack dab in the middle of the day!

UPS always comes in the evening in my area and FedEx is always in the morning. Does UPS even deliver in the morning? Everyone here seems to have an evening delivery with UPS. I hope I can get mine shipped through FedEx.

Mine came via UPS from Apple at about 10:15 AM on June 19. My normal driver and normal time for home delivery.

Last year was a little complex as many units shipped directly from the Foxconn factory in Shenzhen China :D

Delivery can be anywhere from 9am to 7pm depending on where you live -- city, close in suburb, far flung suburb, rural cowtown. If you need it by noon then reserve for in store p/u (Apple, not ATT). If you get in line an hour before opening you should be out w/i 45 min of the doors opening.

if you will be out after 12 pm, i really recommend you get it shipped to your work or office if possible. you need someone there to sign for it, hopefully you can get it when it arrives, good luck!

Through a stupid set of circumstances, I actually ended up getting 2 3GSs on launch day, both preordered--1 picked up one at the AT&T store, so I had it by 7:30 am. The other I had shipped to my parents' house, as I was planning on being there all day. I have no idea what time it got there, because the Fed Ex guy didn't bother to ring the bell or knock (and I was about 15 feet from the door the bulk of the day, assuming I'd have to sign for the package, so I would have heard it). He simply chucked the box up onto the porch and took off. I was NOT pleased. However, I do know that it got there sometime before about 3:30 or so, because that's when I left to go home with it in my hand.

I think it depends on where you live and where you fall on the specific carriers route.

UPS delivers to me late ( after 2:00 pm - and as late as 8:00pm), Fed Ex delivers to me around 10:00am.
