I need a laptop for university and getting in september was only going to get the 13 inch macbook pro but is it worthing waiting until october incase of the retina upgrade in them all?

Plus once i get the laptop would i be able to put software disc into 2008 imac cause the price of snow leopard has rocketed since apple stopped selling it

Worth is subjective. Can you go a month or two without a computer?

I just got a 2012 Macbook Pro 13" because I was in need of a computer now. If you don't mind the screen resolution, want an Optical drive, and don't want to pay a few extra hundreds for the retina screen then you should get a macbook pro now. For these reasons I decided to just upgrade now.
