Hey there guys,

So I'm picking up a Airport Extreme from Kijiji off someone who posted an ad. He claims it's still in excellent condition, has all original packaging and etc. From the pictures it looks legit. What would I need to look for in order to ensure the router is working? It's the previous generation Airport Extreme 802.11N not the AC.

Cheers.

You should check the model number. I believe the last generation before the AC model is MD031LL/A. I think that will be printed on the bottom side of the device.

Beyond that, you need a power source in order to verify anything else, so unless you meet someplace that has wifi and power, not a lot you can do on the spot. Hopefully you're paying less than $125, since that is the going rate for the refurb on Apple's site.

Good luck!
