What to do about upgrade times?

When I got the iPhone 5, I preordered through Verizon and they took a LONG time to deliver it. Apparently it was October 3. Apple is also releasing the 6 earlier in the month, so I'm not sure what to do about my contract. I would like to have the 6 as soon as it is available.
 
Its seem the people who would know more about your contract and wether or not you can upgrade would be Verizon, so maybe try asking them.

But have patience and wait for all details to be made official, carriers will know what to do once the info is made public,
 
To mirror the sentiments above, talk to your provider. They will have the best guess and most reliable information for your situation.
