Hi,

I have a mac laptop running OS 10.4 which has been working perfectly until recently. Lately I have tried downloading itunes, Limewire etc and for some reason my installer will not open and install the mpkg files required to run these programs. The installer seems to recognise the file but only bounces once and doesn't launch.
Is there anyway I could solve this problem?? Starting to get very frustrating!

Any help or advise would be much appreciated!

Cheers!

I don't know how to solve the problem, but to work around it you could use Pacifist to open the mpkgs and install the apps that way. You can download it here.

Try updating your pre-binding using the Terminal app. Type this command (in bold) followed by the return key. You will not get any output and this command takes a bit of time. It is done when you get your prompt back:

sudo update_prebinding -debug -root / -force
