Hi, this is my first post so please be gentle.

I am itching to get an iphone, but I have heard there are a lot of glitches with the 3G I was thinking of buying and 8GB 2.5G unloked iphone from ebay and continuing with my current provider? is this a good idea or are there lots of problems with unlocked iphones? or would it be better for me to just get it with 02 and done with it? please help!!

Cheers

That first gen iphone is gonna feel old after the next few revisions to the 3G. It's a great phone and has advantages but *starting* out with old hardware is not a good idea IMO. Then again, I wouldn't run out and get a 3G right now either. I'd wait a little longer for the problems to be worked out and jump in. *Maybe* the upcoming software update will help.

A lot of the problems with the 3G are region specific--so see how your friends with 3G iphones are doing.
