I'm going to Tucson later this summer and would like to know if there are any must see/do things there. Thanks!
Cheers,

If you look real carefully you might spot one of the massive open stretches of desert in the area...

Kitt Peak is around there IIRC, if you like massive telescopes.

Most people would definitely recommend a visit to Mt. Lemmon, Saguaro National Park, and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.

If you don't mind driving a bit -- Kitt Peak, Kartchner Caverns, Tombstone, and Bisbee are relatively close by.

If you're interested in military aircraft, definitely take the AMARG tour (Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group) at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, and visit the Pima Air & Space Museum and the Titan Missile Museum.

Map of approximate locations.

EDIT: Oooo. Forgot about B2. Have to get down there someday.

ASARCO copper mine, Arizona/Sonora Desert Museum (night programs during the summer, take a flashlight!), Biosphere2 (if it's still in operation), Titan Missile Museum, Nogales AZ/SON (mi madre's hometown).

That's a good weekend or so worth of touring right there. Don't forget to eat. A lot!

Might want to make it quick, the current owners were planning on some changes (aka, demolition and build a tract of homes) -- but they have held off and it is leased for a few years to the University of Arizona.

Wow guys! All these tips are great! Too bad I can't drive (yet) so I'll have to ask about them when I get there.:apple:

Well, I'm heading down to Tucson for a concert on July 15th, so I'll just make plans to take the scenic route. :) (Thanks for the info.)
