What to do to watch steaming movie on website

I am alway watching steaming video on website. Most of website uses window media player to play movie or live channel. I do not know what kind of codec or plugin, or software I have to install. Anybody help me pls. Thank you

Yeah I mean steaming... when you play the movie, it will be played in Safari. I have flip4mac, divx but not perian. I didn't see they work.

I always watch from http://www.dootv.tv
It is Thai tv channel and talk show. They record all shows and upload to the server. I log in and choose the show I want to watch. I do not know what to call.
