so i haven't touched my DC 2.3 in 8 months simply because that dreaded light came on and the computer won't even start. i know i could replace the board or even the CPU, but I want to know if anyone else has gone through this issue. what have you done to fix it or even temporarily fix it? i was thinking "blast the chips with a rework heat gun" but that doesn't always solve the issue. (see: dead 90nm RSX)

i want to get this gem back up and running. your help will be very much appreciated!

no dice. i haven't touched it in 8 months though but that hadn't fixed it either.

i'm going to take a look at it in the next several days or so. could be a dead mobo for all i know.

...well i think i see the issue now!! no wonder why the checkstop light hit me, this thing was really on its last legs! i'm sure a chipset should NOT have to look like that. plus the heatsinks have discolored quite a LOT so i'm sure this motherboard is past its use cycle. i hope the CPU is still okay... gee, i wonder if anyone else had this issue too...
