Hey All,

I replaced the broken LCD screen in my portable DVD player (I dropped it and it shattered). What am I supposed to do with this broken screen? The glass is cracked, but still covered with the polarizer, so it's not sharp. I live in NYC, but I'm not aware of any special city protocols for handling e-waste. I know that LCDs have mercury and probably a lot of other toxins, so I don't want to put it in the regular trash.

Any help is appreciated!

Wrap in up so it looks like a b'day present or something, leave it in the front seat, windows down, park and have a coffee where you can watch the car.

Ha, clever, but I assure you anyone who would steal it out of my car would have no compunctions about throwing it into the trash when he finds out what it is.

Well, what about a TV or computer repair place? What you have isn't that big, and I would think that someone who deals with that stuff would be willing to put it in their stack of broken stuff. Good luck.

Hey, that's an awesome idea, thanks!
