I come from a land down-under...
I have a 2007 MBP , which used to be my main laptop until the keyboard and trackpad finally gave up the ghost. The cost of replacing the parts would have exceeded the value of the machine, so I used it as a "desktop", with external monitor, keyboard & mouse, until I got a much newer Mac Mini, so the MBP is now languishing in a cupboard.

I made various upgrades, so the spec is still reasonably good (2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, 128GB SSD+500GB HDD, 6GB RAM).

What use could I put this computer to?

I can't sell it or donate it because it's no longer functions as a laptop.

I already have a NAS, so I don't need another file server.

I don't have a second property/holiday home that needs a computer.

I was thinking of using it to test new OS versions, but I have the feeling that it is unlikely to be supported for many more generations of Mac OS - probably not even Maverick.

Any suggestions from the Mac cognoscenti?

Thanks!
